It's ok to not be ok


“don’t cry”
“don’t be sad”
“Stop crying”
and etc.



There are many ways or words that people say to use someone to stop being sad. As though sad is a taboo thing that you must stop it immediately, because showing your sadness is a sign of weakness.

We are only human,  we bleed when we fall down. We have no super power to withhold the grief so that you can still be happy although a bad thing happened. We can’t guarantee or make our days perfectly happy all the time.

We know that being human is not easy. Your job isn’t your favorite, your bank account looks scary, you can’t get what you want, you are fighting with your friends or siblings, you know a harsh truth, life is not fair, math, your alarm clock going off, extremely bad in grammar, not being picked, and… knowing the person you love might never even love you back.

Based on the statement above, it’s ok to cry. It’s ok to be in pain because no one expects you to be happy all the time. Showing your emotion isn’t a bad thing. We all have our limits because… we are human and we all are imperfect human beings.

So let yourself  be sad, and just let people be sad too. Do what the sad people do. Cry until you can’t hear your own voice, eat chocolate as much as you can, take a shower until your fingers become pale. Then go to café alone and order a cup of tea with bleary eyes.

After you sicko of being sad, it’s time for you to lift yourself. It’s not okay to suppress your emotion so much. Start with simple things such as playing music, watching funny videos, hanging out with your friends, and be happy then.

You just need take the time, you just need to rest, recharge your energy, take a breath and you will be happy then. So it’s ok to not be ok.
